Hard Restart

If your computer is frozen or misbehaving so badly you can't seem to do anything with it, consider a hard restart.
A hard restart involves holding the power button down for at least 10 seconds.  The trick is to hold it down at least that long.  Many folks get confused as the screen goes to black in about 2 seconds.  This only puts the computer in sleep mode so when you push the power button again, it just wakes up.  Nothing has changed.
Be patient, hold the power button down until all little lights on the computer turn off.  This is a hard restart, and when you push the power button again, your computer should be refreshed and ready to go.
